Ministry of Energy: Russians attacked energy and gas infrastructure facilities in 6 regions of Ukraine
During the night of August 27, Russian occupation forces struck energy and gas infrastructure facilities in six regions of Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
"On the night of August 26 to 27, the enemy carried out another massive terrorist attack using unmanned aerial vehicles on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. Energy and gas transportation system facilities in six regions of Ukraine, particularly in Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhya, suffered targeted destructive strikes," the report states.
Damage assessment is currently underway. Emergency and rescue services are working at the impact sites.
"Around one in the morning, a UAV strike damaged equipment at one of the key substations in Sumy, leaving a significant part of the city and industrial consumers without electricity supply.
In Poltava, the enemy deliberately and comprehensively attacked gas transportation infrastructure facilities, causing significant damage," the Ministry of Energy noted.
Currently, energy and gas workers are working to restore supply.
"We consider the Russian attacks as a continuation of Russia’s deliberate policy to destroy Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure on the eve of the heating season. This is another act of energy terror aimed at the civilian population," they concluded.
