The USA has approved contracts worth 329 million dollars for Ukraine
The U.S. Department of State has approved two military contracts for Ukraine totaling $329 million. These pertain to sales, not aid.
The first contract is related to the maintenance of the Patriot air defence systems and associated equipment amounting to $179.1 million. Ukraine requested the supply of spare parts, software, upgrade kits, testing and communication equipment, integration and repair services, as well as engineering and logistics support, training, and documentation.
The second contract involves extending satellite communication services for Starlink terminals amounting to $150 million. The package includes engineering, technical, and logistical services provided by the U.S. government and contractors, along with other support elements.
In Washington, it is noted that these sales are aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s self-defence capability and ensuring regional security while aligning with U.S. foreign policy and national interests. These deals, as emphasized, will not affect the basic military balance in the region.
