Zelenskyy on negotiations with Putin: "A meeting is possible, but not in Russia"
Ukraine is open to holding negotiations for a bilateral or trilateral meeting. However, they cannot take place on Russian territory.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as reported by ABC News.
On Friday, the President of Ukraine spoke with ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz.
When asked whether the opportunity for a bilateral meeting with the Russian side has been lost, the head of state responded that negotiations remain possible.
He clarified that he is ready for any meeting—bilateral or trilateral—but not on Russian territory.
"This was a signal from the president and from President Trump, and I said: «Mr. President, I am ready for any meeting, but not in Russia. Any meeting, bilateral, trilateral, we will be glad if you are, and even the preliminary conditions we had at the beginning of the year, about a ceasefire, and then a meeting. Then we talked about security guarantees, and then about a meeting", Zelenskyy noted.
The President also expressed gratitude to the United States for confirming their readiness to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. According to him, this issue remains key in the context of future negotiations.
