Zelenskyy urged Trump to increase pressure on Putin: "The White House holds the greatest power"

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as reported by ABC News.

Zelenskyy emphasized that everyone understands the need for additional pressure on Putin. Pressure is needed specifically from the United States, as some European partners - here Zelenskyy agreed with Trump - continue to buy oil and gas from Russia.

"And this is unfair, to be frank and clear. So we must stop buying any kind of energy from Russia, and, by the way, end any deals with Russia. We cannot make any agreements if we want to stop them," the president explained.

It is the United States and Donald Trump who have the greatest opportunities to create pressure on Putin. Ukraine hopes that Trump will fulfill his long-standing promises.

"The greatest power lies with the White House, and I truly hope that President Trump will do this, will pressure Putin, and this is just one of the ways to stop a killer. We need to deprive him of weapons. Energy is his weapon," Zelenskyy added.
