Sikorski: NATO and the EU are technically capable of introducing a no-fly zone over Ukraine
Poland and other Western countries should consider the idea of ensuring a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated this in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Sikorski was asked what he thinks about the proposal to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry recalled that this idea was discussed a year ago when Joe Biden was the President of the United States. According to Sikorski, technically, NATO and EU countries would be capable of implementing such an initiative, but Poland cannot make such decisions on its own.
"Protecting our population - for example, from falling debris - would, of course, be greater if we could strike drones and other aircraft beyond our territory. If Ukraine asked us to shoot them down already over their territory, it would be beneficial for us. If you ask me personally: we should think about it," Sikorski emphasized.
