Zelenskyy appointed Yuriy Barabash as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Yuriy Barabash as a judge of the Constitutional Court.
The corresponding decree of the head of state has been published on the website.
"Appoint Barabash Yuriy as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine," the decree states.
Yuriy Barabash is the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Strategic Development at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, and a corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.
He has worked as an assistant and associate professor at the Department of Constitutional Law of Ukraine.
From September 2006 to February 2007, he served as Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Training Personnel for Judicial Bodies. From February 2007, he was the acting Head of the Department of Constitutional Law of Ukraine, and from June 2007 to 2015, he was the Head of the Department of Constitutional Law of Ukraine.
Barabash is the author of over 90 scientific works.
He is also a member of the specialized academic council for the defence of doctoral dissertations, and a member of the editorial boards of the journals "Bulletin of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine," "Law of Ukraine," and "Public Law."
Barabash is a laureate of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Award for Special Achievements of Youth in the Development of Ukraine (2008); a laureate of the Yaroslav Mudryi Award (2008, 2012), awarded an honorary certificate by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2013), an honorary distinction of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (2014), the distinction of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Excellence in Education" (2014), and a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology (2018).
