Success in the Dobropillya direction is only possible after the liberation of the outskirts of Rodynske, — OSTG spokesperson

We can talk about a significant success of the Defence Forces on the Dobropillya direction when the enemy is pushed back from the outskirts of Rodynske.

This was stated by the spokesperson of the "Dnipro" operational-strategic group, Viktor Trehubov, during a televised marathon.

According to him, the occupiers in the Dobropillya direction overstretched themselves significantly last month and are now "reaping the consequences of this mistake." Meanwhile, a significant number of Russians have entrenched themselves in the outskirts of Rodynske.

"And this poses a threat, particularly to the city of Pokrovsk. Therefore, we can only speak of the success of the Defence Forces when the enemy is ’driven out’ from there; otherwise, the threat to the Pokrovsk direction remains," Trehubov emphasized.

He also mentioned that the Russians are making constant attempts to penetrate Pokrovsk using infrastructure facilities and the features of the local terrain. According to him, sometimes the occupiers disguise themselves in civilian clothing or even in the uniforms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"They want to infiltrate the city, entrench themselves, and ’squeeze out’ Ukrainian soldiers from there. And our forces are trying to eliminate them on the approaches to the city because otherwise, it becomes more challenging," Trehubov added.
