The SSU states that an IT employee of one of Ukraine’s leading energy companies was guiding Russian drones to Kyiv’s energy system.

According to the investigation, the "mole" was supposed to leak to Russia the coordinates of underground backup data centers of his company, which ensure the uninterrupted operation of Ukraine’s energy system.

Additionally, Russia sought to obtain the geolocation of gas turbine generators installed for alternative energy supply to Kyiv residents in case of damage to the capital’s electrical substations.

The SSU believes that the detained individual communicated with the FSB through a relative who previously led one of the banned "pro-Kremlin parties" in Ukraine and received an in-absentia suspicion of treason in September 2022.
