Zelenskyy: American manufacturers are ready to sell Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, final decision rests with Trump
American manufacturers are ready to sell long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. However, the final decision must be made by US President Donald Trump.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a briefing.
"As I have said, we are working on this issue with partners - primarily with the US, the White House, and the President. We are also working separately with manufacturers," Zelenskyy said.
The President noted that the decision to supply Tomahawk missiles is a separate form of pressure on Russia, which is why it is important for Ukraine.
"President Trump did not say ’no,’ and various institutions have given us positive signals regarding this decision. Of course, the final decision rests with the US President," he added.
Zelenskyy emphasized that American manufacturers are ready to respond promptly to the approval of supplies.
"We have discussed this with the manufacturers. In case of a positive signal from President Trump, they will be happy to transfer or sell the relevant systems," he noted.
According to the President, the issue of supplying other long-range systems was also discussed during negotiations with the American side.
"We are interested in a set of different solutions. For us, this is a deterrent package against Russian aggression and a proper response to strikes on our civilian infrastructure, primarily energy. We are working on this issue, and there is definitely a chance that such systems will be transferred to us," the head of state added.
