Media: "The New Father" of the contrabass - and will all the "Ze" greenery be ours?

The curators of the "gray schemes" at Ukrainian customs, Oleksandr Hranovskyi and Viktor Sherman, sent parliamentarian Seyar Kurshutov to negotiate with Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s team about "green corridors" for smuggling flows.

Four years ago, when Petro Poroshenko came to power, he placed his "overseers" over all ministries and agencies where "big money revolves." This did not bypass Ukrainian customs either, where gaining control over the "gray schemes" of import and smuggling can lead to tapping into multimillion-dollar flows of "black cash." And this task was assigned by the Guarantor (at that time) to trusted individuals - PPB MP Oleksandr Hranovskyi and Viktor Sherman. These two influential businessmen decided not to directly pressure customs officers and smugglers but through security officials. In 2016, they managed to place their people in important positions within the SSU (4th Department for Combating and Preventing Corruption at Customs of the Main Directorate "K"). Thus, Oleksandr Hranovskyi and Viktor Sherman became responsible for the shadow flows at customs.

Since then, monthly, the "gray schemes" have brought their curators tens of millions of dollars. However, as informed by a source from the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU), Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s victory in the presidential elections mixed all the cards in the "office of overseers" of the outgoing power.

"Starting from April 22, when Zelenskyy’s victory was obvious, Oleksandr Hranovskyi and Viktor Sherman paused the work of the "office of overseers" at the customs. And for about a week, they have not been taking bribes from importers. However, the pause promises to be short, until the end of the May holidays. According to verified data, the "shadow overseer’s office" has already sent its representative - Seyar Kurshutov - for negotiations with the "Ze! Team." As far as I know, the newly elected President’s side during the conversation will be represented by Illya Pavlyuk," the informant reported.

The person of Illya Pavlyuk is not mentioned on the "Ze! Team" website; however, according to a source from the SFSU, his role is not publicized intentionally. Since he has a more than tarnished reputation, which could undermine the image of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has not yet assumed the presidency. And Illya Pavlyuk’s involvement with Zelenskyy’s headquarters became known earlier from the investigators’ material "Bihus.Info," which published Telegram correspondence of the "Ze team" staffers.

Most mentions of Illya Pavlyuk in the media relate to the period of his active shadow activity in the Yanukovych team. In the press, he was called a "resolver at customs" and even the "king of smuggling" in the Western region. According to "Hromadske TV," Illya Pavlyuk was an assistant to MP Ihor Kaletnyk of the VI convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, who later headed the State Customs. Illya Pavlyuk’s tasks were to "resolve issues" related to the transportation of smuggled goods through customs posts.

What the negotiations between Seyar Kurshutov from the "overseers" team of Poroshenko and a representative of the young "Ze! Team" will result in will be known soon. And if Oleksandr Hranovskyi and Viktor Sherman resume their work, it won’t be difficult to guess that the "Ze! Team" has admitted them into their ranks. Consequently, tens of millions of dollars from the "gray imports" and blatant smuggling will flow into the pockets of the new President of Ukraine.
