Loud silence in the case of Tyshlek
A month has passed since the loud journalistic investigation by "Bihus" about the Deputy Head of the National Police, Dmytro Tyshlek. One of the top leaders of Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies lived in the house of a criminal leader, used a car registered to the criminal leader’s company, and hid the fact that his wife was a Russian citizen with close connections.
It seemed that Tyshlek should have been immediately dismissed from his position, held accountable, and those who failed the special check and allowed a person connected to crime to occupy such a high position should have also been held responsible.
But Tyshlek got away with it; other law enforcers are afraid to touch him. He was suspended from duties by the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, but according to Censor.NET sources, all of this is just a show.
Tyshlek has not yet been dismissed from the National Police.
The internal investigation of Tyshlek made no conclusions after a whole month of work. But the most cynical part is that Tyshlek continues to work in his office, goes to work, and effectively controls the same areas that are very attractive to the mafia. In particular, this includes the issue of drug trafficking, which the Khimprom group is closely involved with.
Thus, journalists have done all the work instead of state regulatory bodies, but the state has still done nothing to fulfill its duties, dismiss and punish the official.
Such complete passivity of the authorities shows that Tyshlek is being "protected" by the President’s Office and the same mafia that Tyshlek was supposed to fight against in his position but has instead collaborated with. Without a doubt, the appointment and retention of Tyshlek in his position after such a super scandal is a joint decision by Zelenskyy, Yermak, and Tatarov.
And it may seem that they are doing this not just because of some random happenstance but because mafia money is going into the pockets of not only some leaders of the National Police but also the top leadership of the "Servants of the People."
Since Zelenskyy is afraid to answer unscripted questions from Ukrainian journalists and even feared meeting with me at a press conference during the war, I hope that some foreign journalist will be able to ask the head of state why he keeps such notorious people in high positions in the police and why he does not publicly comment on this disgraceful story.
