Defense Ministry official hid assets worth 14 million hryvnia

The head of one of the departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was suspected due to an inaccurate declaration.

This was reported by the special prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Central region.

The official was charged with illegal enrichment and declaring false information (Part 1 of Article 366-2, Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code).

According to the investigation, the suspect, being the subject of the declaration, deliberately did not enter information about the acquired assets.

Between 2021 and 2023, the official illegally enriched himself and acquired assets worth almost 14 million hryvnia. In order to conceal this crime, he registered ownership of movable and immovable property (3 vehicles, 4 real estate objects in Kyiv) to a person not reflected in his declarations, namely his common-law wife and her parents.
