Foreigner got into a fight with a "Servant of the People" MP on a Warsaw-Kyiv train

On Tuesday, 19 March, a Warsaw-Kyiv train made an emergency stop in Rivne because of a fight between passengers. The participants in the conflict were Artem Kunayev, a member of the "Servant of the People" party, and a Russian-speaking German citizen. Police drew up an administrative report against the foreigner for disorderly conduct.

According to the Rivne region police, the incident occurred around 7:30 am. The next one at the railway station told law enforcement officers that on the Warsaw-Kyiv train, a fight had occurred in one of the cars, and allegedly one of the participants was injured. The train made an emergency stop in Rivne so that police could document the offenses.

The investigative team established that there was a conflict between a Ukrainian MP and a foreigner over disturbing the silence in the carriage. During the incident, the latter knocked out the people’s deputy’s phone, which he was using to record video,” the police said.

As a result, the police drew up an administrative report against the foreign violator for petty hooliganism (Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The participants in the conflict did not submit any further statements to the police. The people’s representative noted to law enforcement officers that this event was not related to his political activities.

The participant in the conflict turned out to be 31-year-old people’s deputy from the "Servant of the People" Artem Kunayev, and the attacker was a Russian with a German passport.

“A Russian with a German passport, with whom we were traveling in the same compartment on the Warsaw-Kyiv train, at 6:30 in the morning began to swear loudly with someone on the phone. At my request to do this more quietly or in the train corridor, he responded with dirty language, after which he doused me with water from a bottle, “so that I could sleep better.” Then, seeing the Ukrainian coat of arms on my T-shirt, he started shouting that he would “destroy” me, that ours is not a language, but a “Khokhlyatsky Surzhik”, he knocked the phone on which I was video recording the events out of my hands and climbed me with fists,” said the people’s deputy.

According to Artem Kunayev, he had to defend himself and also contact the conductor and the head of the train to respond to this event.

“As it turned out later, this person is a representative in the CIS of a German company producing special equipment, which actively continues to work in Russia after the start of a full-scale invasion,” added Artem Kunaev.
