Air defence destroyed 26 missiles and 58 Shaheds out of 99 targets

On the night of March 29, the defenders of the skies of Ukraine did a lot of work to repel several waves of Russian air attacks. The enemy launched 39 missiles, including ballistic ones, and 60 kamikaze drones into our regions, from which they managed to shoot down a total of 84 targets.

Explosions across the country were heard from the evening of the previous day until Friday morning and were associated with air defence operations and, unfortunately, hits. The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, spoke about the results of repelling this attack.

According to him, the enemy launched a powerful missile and air strike on the facilities of the fuel and energy sector of Ukraine, using 99 means of attack, namely:

– 60 drones of the Shahed-136/131 type (launch area Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk region of the Russian Federation);

– three Kh-47M2 “Dagger” aeroballistic missiles (from three MiG-31K fighters – Ryazan region of the Russian Federation);

– two Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launch area – temporarily occupied Crimea);

– nine X-59 guided aircraft missiles (out of nine Su-34 aircraft – Byelgorod region of the Russian Federation);

– four Iskander-K cruise missiles (Kursk region of the Russian Federation);

– 21 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles (out of 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers – Engels, Russian Federation).

Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and Ground Forces, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the missile and air strike.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 84 air targets were destroyed, including 58 Shaheds, 17 Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles, five Kh-59s and four Iskander-Ks.

“Honor and praise to everyone who defends Ukraine from Russian terror. Thank you for your military work, thank you for the result. The result is victory!” – noted the commander of the Armed Forces PS.

The southern defence forces reported the destruction of seven kamikaze drones: five in Mykolaiv region and two in Dnipro region. According to the RMA, 24 air targets were shot down over Dnipro region at night and in the early morning: 12 missiles and Shaheds each (Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, Novomoskovsk, and Kamianske districts).
