In Odesa they plan to open beaches for the summer season, - RMA

In Odesa, they plan to open city beaches for the 2024 summer season. However, they must first check the relevant services so that their stay by the sea is safe for holidaymakers.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, told the Public about this on March 30. According to him, there were two main reasons for the opening of six beaches in Odesa at the end of summer.

“You call it “beach season,” we see it a little differently. This is for the health of our families, the families of our soldiers. Guys who are at zero and are also on vacation come and can get healthier. This is the first reason. And the second “spontaneous beaches formed in the city,” explained the head of the Odesa region.

Oleh Kiper added that the unspoiled beaches were dangerous, and a decision was made to equip those that “can give people the opportunity to undergo those solar treatments after checking by all services, explosives experts and others, and if there is shelter nearby.”

The head of the RMA also noted that after the May holidays there will be more people on the beaches of Odesa again. To open the beaches, it is necessary to work out this issue with city authorities, military leadership and other services.

“There is an algorithm, we understand how to do it. The safe component in Odesa – everything has been very tense with this lately, but we will open it if possible,” Kiper said.

In response to the question whether an increase in the influx of tourists is expected in Odesa, the head of the region said that life goes on and it was pleasant to see the queues to enter the city last year:

“We opened the beach season for this: to improve people’s health, to give our city and our region breath. So that people understand that, despite the fact that the enemy is constantly attacking us, life exists. And as last year showed, that after there will be "Opened in the first season, in Odesa there were queues at the entrance again. It was very pleasant."
