Russia is preparing an additional mobilization of 300 thousand of its military personnel on June 1, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I can say that on June 1, Russia is preparing to mobilize 300 thousand additional troops,” Zelenskyy said at a press conference with the President of Finland in Kyiv.

Answering a question from journalists about how many recruits will be mobilized into the Ukrainian army this year, the head of state also noted that “we don’t need half a million.”

“As for the specific number of people who will be mobilized, I can’t say... We don’t need half a million,” Zelenskyy said.

The President thanked the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, for the audit in the army, saying that “it is important that he (Syrsky - IF-U) found strength within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a corresponding number of those who were not at the front will be at the front.”
