Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that foreign military personnel in Ukraine can train Ukrainian military personnel, as well as help repair military equipment - but the president is not ready to invite foreign units to participate in hostilities.

He said this in an interview shown on Saturday on the air of a single telethon; he was quoted by Interfax-Ukraine .

The President said that he supported several of Emmanuel Macron’s proposals publicly and in conversations with him.

“Training our guys here. I think it’s much faster than sending our guys and brigades,” he said.

“The second is to build repair hubs to repair all Western equipment in Ukraine, in certain regions underground. This works, and we are even already doing some things and we see how much faster it is than we send a tank or armored vehicles,” the president noted .

Zelenskyy also sees no reason to abandon the border mission.

“He (Macron – ed.) proposed the initiative to be at the border. Well, how can we refuse? If they offer it and come, we will only support,” he noted.

At the same time, Zelenskyy is not ready to invite combat units to Ukraine.

“Today I cannot publicly say: yes, come on, armies of the world, come to Ukraine and fight. Because Russia will raise this hype in the world, they will begin to raise the society of other states that you cannot send your children to war, that this is not their war ", they will begin to split the unity between European countries and NATO countries. This is risky for us, because if I come up with such an initiative, then I will tell you that Russia will do everything to stop the military assistance of other states," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, he recalled that “we have some volunteer formations, when people with a different origin, with a different citizenship come and fight for Ukraine. Ukraine will never mind if anyone wants to help.”
