Zelenskyy held Headquarters: discussed the front, energy and strengthening air defence

Situation at the front

The meeting heard a report by Chief of the Defence Staff Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation on the main directions, defence needs and future actions of Ukraine.

The head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Ivashchenko, and the head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, also presented information on possible Russian actions.

Zelenskyy heard a report from Defence Minister Rustem Umyerov on contracts for the supply of weapons, electronic warfare systems and drones.

Energy situation

“I heard reports from representatives of the energy industry - the Ministry of Energy, Energoatom, Ukrenergo, Naftogaz - on the efforts they are making to protect systems, restore damaged generation, and reconnect consumers,” Zelenskyy wrote.

There was also a report by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov on the protection of critical infrastructure, especially on the situation in the front-line and border regions.

"It is obvious that physical protection cannot completely protect some objects from terrorist attacks. Only sufficiently effective air defense can do this. We are grateful to those friends who understand this and quickly responded to our calls to support the Ukrainian air shield. But the intensity of Russian attacks requires" more unity. By defending Israel, the free world has demonstrated that such unity is not only possible, but completely effective,” the president said.

According to him, the decisive actions of the allies prevented the success of terror and the loss of infrastructure and forced the aggressor to cool down.

“The same is possible in protecting Ukraine from terror, which, like Israel, is not a member of NATO. And this does not require the activation of Article 5, political will is enough,” Zelenskyy believes.

Shelling of Ukraine

Let us remind you that the Russian occupiers have intensified shelling of Ukraine since March. To do this, they used kamikaze drones and missiles.

The main target of the enemy was the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Therefore, power outages were observed throughout the country.

In particular, on April 11, the enemy destroyed the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region with his strike. It was the most powerful power plant in the region, as well as the largest supplier of electricity in the Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions.

Because of such an attack, Centerenergo lost all its generation.
