In Poland, tons of Ukrainian ice cream will be thrown away due to incorrect labeling

Polish inspectors have banned the sale in the country of a batch of more than 7 tons of ice cream previously imported from Ukraine. The Poles had no questions about the quality of the goods - they were not satisfied with the labeling.

The corresponding decision was announced on the microblog of the Trade Inspectorate for the Quality of Agricultural and Food Products of Poland (IJHARS) in Poznan. 7127.7 kg of ice cream in a cone were withdrawn from sale due to incorrect labeling - some of the information was closed, inspectors explained. The decision was immediately implemented.

This is not the first time this month that Ukrainian products have been denied access to the Polish market. On April 11, IJHARS seized two batches of cookies weighing 10.55 tons in the city of Rzeszow, and three days earlier, three batches of Ukrainian bagels weighing 5.34 tons. And in Lublin, three consignments of Ukrainian ice cream with a total weight of 8.48 tons were seized due to its defrosting.

In addition, in early April, a Ukrainian company was imposed a record fine among importers in the amount of 1.5 million zlotys (about $380 thousand) for the import of 11.5 thousand tons of technical rapeseed and feed wheat as counterfeit due to their further use. It was also decided to ban the import of a batch of 57.66 tons of tomato paste from Ukraine due to the presence of mold.

Overall, according to IJHARS Chief Inspector Przemyslaw Rzodkiewicz, 1.4% of product shipments from Ukraine were rejected at the border over the past year.
