NABU and SAPO exposed a large-scale scheme at Chernivtsi customs

NABU and SAPO exposed a criminal organization that included Chernivtsi customs officials and well-known entrepreneurs, including an ex-deputy of the regional council.

They organized the illegal import of goods from Turkey (clothing, shoes, accessories) through the Vadul-Siret customs post. How? They decorated the vehicles as empty or disguised them with cover goods (fabric, chipboard, brick).

The state suffered UAH 290 million in losses.

Among the 11 suspects are three Chernivtsi customs officials and eight individuals.
