The case of MP Andriy Odarchenko was sent to court. He is suspected of trying to bribe an official.

Journalist Oleh Novikov reported this. He noted that the case was sent to court by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).

“SAPO has sent an indictment against People’s Deputy Andriy Odarchenko to the anti-corruption court. He is accused of attempting to bribe the head of the State Reconstruction Agency, Mustafa Nayem, for cryptocurrency,” the message says.

What preceded

According to preliminary investigation data, Odarchenko allegedly offered the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development $50,000 in exchange for assistance in obtaining funds from the fund for liquidating the consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation for the repair of an infrastructure facility under his control.

After the allocation of funds from the fund, “the cryptogamanian whistleblower-top official received the first tranche of improper benefits in the equivalent of 10 thousand US dollars.”

On November 22, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine chose a preventive measure for the parliamentarian. Odarchenko was arrested with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of 15 million hryvnia.

After this, Odarchenko was temporarily expelled from the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, as well as from the SN party. The politician is a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy.

“This is a standard procedure that we use in such cases. The final decision on it will be made based on the results of the investigation,” noted SN.

However, already at the end of autumn 2023, Odarchenko was released from the pre-trial detention center. Bail was posted for him.

Ties to Yanukovych’s people

Earlier, Odarchenko was linked to Vadym Slyusarev, a former assistant to Viktor Pshonka, the son of Yanukovych’s Prosecutor General, Vadym Slyusarev. According to Chesno:

  • Odarchenko owned a number of companies in Kharkiv engaged in renting and managing leased real estate;
  • he left one of these companies, Gradient Invest, on the eve of the 2019 parliamentary elections.

"The contact number of Gradient Invest can also be used to contact Rubicon Trading LLC. The company is co-owned by Vadym Slyusarev (99%)," the investigators noted.
