Mobilization in Ukraine: which women can receive a summons

The new mobilization bill has several provisions for women’s mobilization. In particular, the terms of the law determine that women can only join the service voluntarily.

This is stated in the text of the law on mobilization.

It is noted that certain categories of women who are suitable for military service due to health and age (i.e. from 18 to 60 years old), and who have graduated from vocational (vocational, technical), vocational higher or higher education institutions must be registered with the military – received a medical or pharmaceutical specialty.

“Women who have a specialty or profession “related to the corresponding military specialty, defined in the list approved by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine,” and who are suitable for military service due to health and age, are registered for military service, but only at their voluntary request.” , the message says.

In peacetime, they can be accepted into military service or join on a voluntary basis (under contract) to serve in the reserves - this also depends on their own choice.
