Ukrainian Armed Forces stop active advance of occupants in Kharkiv region, - Syniehubov

In Kharkiv region, as of 16 May, the front line has not yet been stabilised. However, our defenders stopped the active advance of the Russian invaders and regained more favourable positions in some areas.

The Russian Armed Forces continue their assaults towards the village of Lyptsi and the city of Vovchansk. The situation was described by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, during a joint news telethon.

“Our soldiers, although it cannot yet be said that they stabilized the front line, but stopped the enemy’s active advance across the territory of the Kharkiv region. In some directions, our soldiers managed to return to a more advantageous position,” he said.

In order to continue active operations, the occupiers are forced to draw up reserves. The enemy is suffering significant losses.

“But still, our task is to stabilize the front line,” emphasized the head of the RMA. Advocates are also trying to reduce the gray area.

In Volchansk (as of May 16), fighting continued in urban areas.
