The former president of the Kyiv Basketball Federation, Max Serheyev, said that a leading Ukrainian basketball player was detained and mobilised while trying to illegally cross the border.

This is reported by the media.

Referring to sources, they clarify that this is 26-year-old Kyiv-Basket defender Vadym Zaplotynskyi.

He tried to cross the border through the mountains in Bukovyna as part of a group of people.

“He was detained by the border service. Then he got acquainted with the TRC and moved to the training center for airborne assault troops,” writes Serhyeev.

Zaplotynskyi was recognized as the best defender in the 2023/24 Super League. His team took third place in the national championship.
