On the night of June 5, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine, launching 27 kamikaze drones. Air defence forces destroyed 22 shaheds as a result of an air battle.

This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.

The Russians launched all 27 attack drones, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from the areas of Kursk (Russian Federation) and Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Anti-aircraft missile units and REB of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.

“As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 22 suicide bombers were shot down in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Poltava regions,” Oleshchuk noted.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, clarified : the sky defenders destroyed four enemy drones over the region. Two of them managed to land in the Kryvyi Rih region, one each near the Dnipro and the Nikopol region.

“In the evening, the aggressor targeted Nikopol. The terror continued in the morning. The invaders attacked the city with kamikaze drones. They also fired at it from heavy artillery. No people were injured. An infrastructure facility, 5 private houses, 3 outbuildings, and a power line were damaged. Other consequences are being determined.” , - Lysak said about the night in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The threat of drones was reported to the Air Force the day before, on June 4, at about 10:30 p.m. “Shaheds” were then recorded over the Kharkiv region, Sumy region and Poltava region, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk region, Kherson region and Mykolaiv region. The end of the threat was announced at 01:24 on June 5.

And after half an hour, at 01:54, the siren sounded again. The threat, as before, began to spread from the north – from the Sumy region. This time the air raid warning lasted until 03:57.
