Syrskyi held a meeting of the working group on unmanned systems
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting of the working group on unmanned systems, during which they determined the priorities for the development of ground, sea and airborne UAS and identified key tasks at all levels.
Syrskyi reported this on Facebook .
Participating in the meeting were, in particular, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Anatoliy Barhilevych, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and unit commanders.
Syrskyi stated that he considers one of his strategic tasks to be the transformation of the Ukrainian army into a high-tech army, whose fighters will be provided with the maximum amount of technology. According to him, this will help not only give the enemy an advantage, but also, most importantly, save the lives of the defenders of Ukraine.
As the commander-in-chief noted, field commanders with the call signs “Veres”, “Madyar” and “Achilles” have unique combat experience in the use, supply and debugging of unmanned systems.
He believes it is critical to have a common understanding of the future development of these technologies and to recognize the challenges facing the Defence Forces.
Syrskyi recalled “the impressive results of unmanned systems and teams using them, including in the hot Kharkiv direction,” as well as how Ukrainian naval drones drove the enemy out of the Ukrainian Black Sea.
“We plan to further improve logistics, supply chains, workshop operations, communications, training, recruiting capable crews for unmanned units, research and experimental work, and eliminating bureaucratic barriers, in particular when it comes to decommissioning lost drones,” -.
He emphasized that the Unmanned Systems Forces are a branch of the military that must be constantly improved in the face of new challenges and realities.
“I plan to hold such meetings regularly. We will be flexible, dynamic and proactive. This is the only way we can build the army of the future,” Syrskyi emphasized.
