The presidents of the United States and France - Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron - during a meeting in Paris discussed the issue of using frozen assets of the Russian Federation to support Ukraine.

This was reported with reference to a publication by the White House press service.

According to the White House, following the meeting, Biden and Macron supported the idea of transferring proceeds from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. This idea was proposed and approved earlier by the EU.

“The Presidents are committed to supporting efforts within the EU and G7 to return extraordinary proceeds from frozen Russian sovereign assets to Ukraine, consistent with international law and our respective legal systems and decision-making processes,” the White House said in a release.
