Russia uses about 100 air-guided bombs every day. Not a single air system can cope with such a quantity; comprehensive solutions are needed, which were discussed today in Berlin during negotiations between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The head of the Ukrainian state announced this during a joint press conference with the German Chancellor.

“Over the current 24 hours, Russia has used 135 aircraft-guided bombs, each of which is about a ton. That’s a lot. No air defense system can cope with this. Complex solutions are required. And that’s exactly what Olaf and I were talking about today. But some things need to be discussed quietly until they are resolved,” the president said, without revealing details of the negotiations.

Zelenskyy also thanked Scholz for the decision to allocate additional air defence systems to Ukraine.

“I am grateful for the support package from Germany, as well as for the allocation of the Patriot system, which our team is already learning from. We highly value the quality and accuracy of the IRIS-T system. Our teams worked hard to speed up all processes so that we could have these systems faster,” the president added.

Zelenskyy emphasized that by providing air defense systems, Germany has already saved thousands of Ukrainian lives from Russian terror.

“This is something for which Ukraine will always be grateful. This is what brings the end of this war closer,” he said.
