The Netherlands will allocate 60 million euros for the purchase of drones for Ukraine

The Netherlands decided to allocate 60 million euros to provide Ukraine with offensive unmanned capabilities. These funds, among other things, will be spent on maritime drones and FPV drones for our military.

This was announced by Defence Minister Kaisa Ollongren during a visit to Ukraine - on Tuesday, June 11, she visited Kyiv and Lviv. It is noted that drones of various types play an important role in the war between Ukraine and Russia.

"They are an effective complement to other, more traditional weapons systems," the report said.

Of this aid package, €20 million will be allocated to the purchase of FPV drones through the international drone coalition created earlier this year.

Another 17.5 million euros are intended for the purchase of naval drones that successfully operate against enemy targets in the Black Sea. Ukraine can produce this type of drone in its country, so the Netherlands also stimulates local business with this financial contribution.

"These high-tech innovations are also important for the Netherlands. For joint industry cooperation and as a lesson for our own armed forces," Ollongren said.

The remaining funds are intended for the supply of drones of various types. The Dutch industry also benefits from this, the Ministry of Defence noted.
