In Odesa, judge Cherevko hides his property by registering it in his family’s name

Judge Serhiy Cherevko of the Malynovskyi District Court of Odesa, who became infamous for his acquittal of the city’s mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, hid his property during the war, registering it in his family’s name.

This is stated in his declaration, as well as in the conclusion of the Public Council of Virtue.

During the full-scale war, the judge’s wife, Yuliya Cherevko (Kucher), bought a 50.6 sq m apartment in Odesa in October 2023 for UAH 638,000. The couple and their children live in a 178 sq m house registered in the name of the judge’s father, Pavlo Cherevko (a former judge). The judge has also been using an elite Mercedes-Benz GLE 350d Coupe (2018) since last summer. The car worth UAH 1.85 million is also registered in his father’s name.

This is not the first year that the judge has been indicating false information in his declarations, but the NACP does not see it. Back in 2016, Automaidan found a large list of Judge Cherevko’s undeclared property.

Between 2012 and 2015, he did not declare a single property. According to the register of property rights, since 2012 his wife has owned a share of an apartment in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, but for some reason it is not reflected in the declaration. The judge’s mother, Nadiya Cherevko, who worked for the Road Service of Odesa region, had a lot of property:

• Holiday home of a health and rehabilitation center. Area – 197.2 sq. m. Date of acquisition of ownership: 2015.
• Land plots of 0.15 hectares, Odesa region. Date of acquisition of ownership: 2013;
• Land plots 0.13 hectares, Odesa region. Date of acquisition of ownership: 2013;
• Part of a residential building in Odesa with an area of 104.4 square meters. m. Share donated in 2010;
• House in Odesa region. Put into operation in 2010.

The most interesting thing in the questionnaire, presumably belonging to judge Serhiy Cherevko, is the description of his use of various cars, including the executive class.

4. Mercedes E-Class (2011). “ I’ve owned it for 6 months, white with AMG body kit, I can only say one thing, this is the best car! which I owned, and there were many of them. Source ;
5. Toyota RAV4 (2013). “ I took 15 from the salon and took it for my wife. 2.0 CTV Live. It’s too early to talk about anything concrete, but someone still needs to start. Let me note right away that my wife has changed for the better.” Source .

According to the property declaration, the judge and his wife used a Toyota RAV4, registered to their mother Nadiya. If the specified user of the site is actually a judge, there are reasonable doubts about the legality of the origin of funds for the purchase of the listed property.

According to the GRD, for 2018, the judge has the right to use his father’s apartment of 94.1 square meters in Odesa. However, in the declarations for 2012-2017, the specified apartment is not indicated. The same problem was with the cars of his mother Nadiya Cherevko. All the cars discovered by activists were registered to the judge’s mother. However, the source of income was not specified.
