The United States announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine

She said this is the seventh security package Biden has authorized to help Ukraine since he signed the national security amendment in April.

The new package includes:

• missiles for Ukrainian air defensce systems;
• ammunition for highly mobile artillery;
• missile systems;
• artillery shells and other critical equipment.

All weapons are from US stockpiles being withdrawn under presidential reduction authority.

The new package also includes new funding that the US Department of Defence will use to purchase interceptors for the Patriot and NASAM air defense systems to help Ukraine defend its troops and cities from air attacks from Russia.

As previously reported in the media, this package was provided within the framework of the powers of the US President to remove weapons, ammunition and equipment from American military warehouses to meet the short-term needs of Ukraine.

It became known the day before that the package will contain ammunition for HIMARS artillery systems and other critical shells. American officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters that cluster munitions would not be included in the package. However, officials did not answer whether the assistance of long-range ATACMS missiles would be “for reasons of operational security.”
