On the night of 8 June, the experts published a post about the latest advances of the Russian Armed Forces. The main areas where the enemy had successes were Kupyansk, Pokrovske, and Kurakhove. In Kupyansk, the Russians managed to advance significantly towards the north-eastern outskirts of the settlement and approached the village of Petropavlivka. Near Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, there were successes in two locations.

Near Kupyansk, Russians occupied another 2 km in the direction of Petropavlivka, according to the map of the fighting. A satellite map shows that these are fields halfway between Vilshany and Pershotravneve.
