Ukraine will be in the European Union sooner than predicted, - Zelenskyy
Ukraine hopes to become a member of the European Union in a shorter time frame than expected. Persistence is needed for this.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a statement by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a documentary about Ukraine’s Western direction, which was broadcast during the telethon.
The head of state noted that when Ukraine obtained candidate status for EU accession, he had a meeting with all the leaders of the member countries. At that time, the majority warned that "from candidacy to negotiations - 6-8 years, and from negotiations to EU membership can take 10 years."
"We will go through all these stages, I am confident, and we will be in the EU sooner than expected. If we continue to work in the same way, to move forward diligently," the president emphasized.
He noted that in Ukraine, such a number of laws were adopted, "as the EU countries have worked on for years" due to disputes and power struggles. But in Ukraine, this stage was "not noticed," it was "run through."
