The 59th Separate Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handzyuk will undergo an inspection to determine the circumstances of the recent losses among its personnel.

“In order to check the situation in the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handzyuk and clarify the circumstances of recent losses among personnel, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to send a complex working group led by the head of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the area of responsibility of the unit,” the message says. .

The day before, military officer Kateryna “Ptashka” Polishchuk appealed to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a request to conduct an official investigation into the commander of the 59th brigade, Bohdan Shevchuk. According to her, Shevchuk gave criminal orders, neglected the lives of the soldiers, which is why some of them died, and also eliminated all dissenting commanders.

Earlier, journalist Yuriy Butusov called for the dismissal of the brigade commander Shevchuk due to a lack of experience: he said that due to his incompetence there was a threat of losing Krasnohorivka.
