Former head of Kharkiv tax office Vasyl Hladchenko found guilty of corruption

NABU and SAPO exposed a key person in the scheme for receiving bribes by Kharkiv tax officials. According to the investigation, funds, in particular, were allocated to the then head of the Kharkiv tax office, Vasyl Hladchenko, who was supposed to ensure the final decision was made.

Tax official of the Kharkiv region Tetyana Horban, detained for extorting a bribe of 150 thousand dollars, was given a suspended sentence.

The woman was exposed for inciting bribery and asking for undue benefits. During January - February 2024, the tax officer made a request to the representative of Ocean Foods LLC, A.V. Sladchenko. give her a bribe for carrying out actions in the interests of a number of companies (Sushi Product Plus LLC, Sushi Product LLC and Yocatta Foods LLC), in particular, when the department subordinate to her carried out an audit regarding the correctness of calculation, completeness and timely payment of taxes and fees

In addition, the tax officer incited a representative of a private company to provide 55 thousand dollars to the head of the main department of the State Tax Service in the Kharkov region, Vasyl Hladchenko, so that he would decide to exclude the company from the list of payers meeting the risk criteria, as well as to register the stopped tax invoices of this LLC. During the transfer of 55 thousand dollars, the official was exposed “in the act” and was subsequently informed of the suspicion.

NABU and SAPO collected enough evidence of the ex-official’s involvement in the crime and informed him of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 368 CC.

The investigation against the head of the department resulted in a guilty verdict. In May, suspicion was also reported to: the head of the department of the State Tax Service in the Kharkiv region (part 4 of article 368 of the Criminal Code), a department employee and an entrepreneur (part 5 of article 27, part 3 of article 369 of the Criminal Code).
