Lviv customs officers discovered Apple contraband worth 1.6 million hryvnia
Lviv customs officers discovered contraband equipment that a bus driver from the Ternopil region hid in shopping bags. Among the undeclared goods are new iPhones worth 1.6 million hryvnia. The contraband was seized in Shehyni on July 29.
As reported by Lviv customs, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus chose the “red corridor” lane to pass through customs control. However, in the declaration of movement, he indicated only 35 Starlink terminals, 20 charging stations and 50 mobile phones.
“When inspecting the luggage compartment of the car, customs officers discovered hidden Apple equipment: 27 new iPhone 15 Pro and eight iPad Air 11. The driver hid the gadgets in shopping bags and wrapped them with duct tape to be sure,” customs officers said .
An administrative protocol was drawn up for a 41-year-old resident of the Ternopil region under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine (moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine with concealment from customs control).
