A drone hit the house of Russian opposition leader Illya Ponomaryov near Kyiv
On the night of 1 August, a Russian army Geranium-2 kamikaze drone attacked the house of Russian opposition leader Illya Ponomaryov on the outskirts of Kyiv. The politician received numerous shrapnel wounds, but his life is not in danger.
OBOZ.UA sources reported this. It is known that the UAV exploded five meters from the front door. The house is destroyed.
Before this, during a massive attack between 3 and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, three drones had already flown into the territory of Illya Ponomaryov’s site.
However, they were shot down by air defence and fell 50-100 meters from the house, causing only minor damage.
It was then concluded that Ponomaryov’s building was not the target, but today’s night attack showed that it was the Russian opposition leader who was the target of the attack, sources say.
Ponomarev is safe under protection. The police of Kyiv and the Kyiv region are conducting an investigation.
