A fire broke out at an oil depot in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation after a drone attack
Drones attacked the Russian city of Proletarsk in the Rostov region on the morning of August 18. After the explosions, a powerful fire broke out at a local oil depot.
The Russians claim that there were two consecutive attacks by "Ukrainian drones" on the said facility. They posted footage of the fire online, which was visible from the surrounding populated areas, and at the same time bragged about their ballistics attack on Kyiv.
"Ukrainian UAVs attacked an oil depot in the Rostov region. There is a fire there now", "An oil depot in the city of Proletarsk is on fire. It was attacked by drones", "The fuel caught fire, there is no information about casualties", - Russian publics reported the situation.
According to them, the oil depot was attacked at about 05:00 on Sunday. Residents of the city heard four or five explosions and saw a column of smoke and a fire.
Rostov Region Governor Vasiliy Golubyev said that in the southeast of the region, air defense forces "repulsed a UAV attack." He claimed that the fire broke out "as a result of falling debris" on the territory of industrial warehouses - diesel fuel was allegedly burning. According to him, the oil depot was attacked again, which is why "it is not yet possible to put it out."
Other propagandists claimed that the UAV attacked the base for the second time "while the Ministry of Emergency Situations was extinguishing a fire." They say that there were no casualties.
Meanwhile, in the comments under such messages, Russians bragged that their aggressor country attacked Kyiv and the region with Iskanders and Geraniums (the Russian name for "shahids" - Ed.).
