Head of Military Commission who helped fugitives to leave the country detained in Zakarpattia region

In Khust, a 46-year-old head of the military medical commission at the district territorial recruitment and social support center, as well as a nurse at the central hospital, was charged. This was reported by the Zakarpattia Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Sphere of Defence of the Western Region.

It was established that the suspects were obliged to produce knowingly false official medical documents for money, on the basis of which those liable for military service were to be declared unfit for military service and excluded from military registration. In this way, they planned to freely leave the country during the war.

According to law enforcement, the nurse and another defendant were documented as receiving two "tranches" of illegal benefits in the amount of 5,000 and 1,500 US dollars. Another suspect, a 53-year-old native of Khmelnytskyi, who helped a citizen receive a disability group, was detained while receiving 6,000 US dollars.

The head of the MMC was served with a petition to select a preventive measure in the form of detention and removal from office. At the same time, the involvement of other members of the military medical commission in the criminal offense is being investigated.
