In the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region, a large evacuation of residents continues due to the approaching front line. As of the morning of September 2, about 30,000 residents remained in the city, while more than half had already left their homes.

This was reported by the head of the Pokrovsk city military administration Serhiy Dobryak. In Pokrovsk itself, there are still 1,365 children, and in the entire community, consisting of two cities and 39 villages, there are 2,279 children.

Dobryak noted that all children have been evacuated from settlements located in close proximity to the front line. The forced evacuation of children with their parents continues and includes the most dangerous areas.

"As of today, as of this morning, there are just over 30,000 residents left in Pokrovsk. The community is made up of two cities and 39 villages - 42,000. We are not forcibly evacuating children from the entire community. This is only from two cities and 12 villages, that is, from 14 populated areas. Others remain. Children from villages that are close to the front line have already been evacuated," he said.

The pace of evacuation has accelerated significantly in recent weeks. If two weeks ago about 600 people left the area daily, now this number has grown to 2,000. The evacuation is concentrated in the largest cities of the community, where it is in full swing.

It should be noted that from September 2, banks will cease operating in Pokrovsk, only ATMs will continue to operate. This also applies to other services providing services to the population. An extended curfew has also been introduced in the city, during which movement is permitted only from 11:00 to 15:00.

However, as the head of the Pokrovsk District Police Department Stanislav Zahurskyi reported, for those who are evacuating or transporting their belongings, movement is permitted even during the curfew.

Recently the situation at the front has become much more tense, and the line of combat operations is rapidly approaching Pokrovsk, which remained a relatively calm rear area during the first two years of the war.
