The High Anti-Corruption Court decided to extend until October 27 the term of nighttime house arrest of the acting director of the state enterprise "Mariupol Sea Trading Port" Ihor Barskyi, who is suspected of embezzling 13.92 million UAH.

This decision was made on August 27 by the HACC.

It is known that the Appeal Chamber has softened Barskyi’s house arrest. He is also subject to several obligations: to appear upon summons; not to leave the locality where he is registered, resides, or is located without permission; to report any change of residence and/or workplace; to refrain from communicating with witnesses in the criminal proceedings and to surrender his passports for safekeeping.

The SAPO prosecutor requested to extend the house arrest and the imposed obligations for another two months.

«The SAPO prosecutor’s request to extend the term of house arrest – is satisfied. To extend the preventive measure in the form of house arrest applied to (Barskyi, – Ed.), with the prohibition to leave the residence from 23:00 to 06:00 without permission for a period of 2 months, that is, until October 27, 2024, inclusively. The term of the obligations imposed on the suspect is set for 2 months until October 27, 2024, inclusively», – stated in the decision.
