Head of the Kharkiv Garrison Serhiy Melnyk became the deputy of Umyerov

Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

His candidacy was proposed by Defence Minister Umyerov.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Melnyk (callsign "Marseille") has led the defence of Kharkiv.

He expresses gratitude to Umerov and the Cabinet for the trust placed in him and mentions plans to build a modern army together and move towards victory.
