In Uzhhorod, the university rector was detained for fake education of 300 men

In the Zakarpattia region, law enforcement officers uncovered a scheme at the Eastern European Slavic University. Officials of the private institution were accepting bribes to fictitiously enroll men liable for military service as students. The status of a student with deferred mobilization cost draft dodgers over 2,000 dollars.

Sources in law enforcement reported the arrest of Lyudmyla Nesukh, the rector of the Eastern European Slavic University. According to Uzhgorod City Council deputy Vitaliy Hlahola, apart from her, a former vice-rector and an employee of the Military Law Enforcement Service were participants in the scheme.

«Men of conscription age received the status of students for 1,500 euros and a deferment from mobilization for 500-1,000 dollars. As a result of the searches, more than 4.5 million UAH in various currencies were seized,» wrote Vitaliy Hlahola on Telegram.

Currently, it is known about approximately three hundred draft dodgers who managed to obtain the status of students at the Eastern European Slavic University through bribes.
