In the Khmelnytskyi region, 48 prosecutors have disabilities, — head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office
The media reported that "almost all" 225 prosecutors in the region have "disabilities".
However, Oleksiy Oliynyk emphasizes that it is not "almost all" prosecutors in the region, but 48 out of 225 prosecutors.
"Furthermore, the disabilities of most employees were not acquired in recent years," he notes.
He stated that an investigation on this issue has already been conducted.
He also adds that he himself has had a disability group since 2017 because in 2005 he "sustained an injury on the job while studying materials of a criminal case".
Additionally, Oliynyk denies that the prosecutor’s office "covered" a corruption scheme by MSEC head Tetyana Krupa.
It has been noted that prosecutors might have indeed acquired disabilities even before the war, as it provided them with the opportunity for earlier retirement, as well as an increase in pension benefits. This could have been the reason for obtaining the disability.
