Air defence forces destroyed 44 enemy attack UAVs overnight

On the night of October 26, Russia launched a combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine: air defence destroyed 44 enemy strike UAVs out of 91, and 44 more were lost in terms of their location.

This was reported by the Air Forces on social media.

"On the night of October 26, 2024 (from 7:00 PM on October 25), the enemy attacked Ukraine with missiles of various types, Shahed-type strike UAVs, and drones of unidentified types.

The Radio-Technical Troops of the Air Force detected and tracked 98 airborne enemy attack means:

- 3 ballistic missiles "Iskander-M/KN-23" (from the territory of Crimea);

- 2 guided air missiles X-59 (from the airspace of the Bryansk region – RF);

- 2 missiles of an unidentified type (from Belgorod region – RF);

- 91 enemy UAV (launch areas: Kursk, Orel – RF)".

The missiles struck civilian infrastructure objects in the Sumy region and Dnipro. Unfortunately, there are civilian casualties.

Regarding the strike UAVs, as a result of the air battle as of 12:00 PM, the downing of 44 enemy UAVs in the Kirovohrad, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Kursk regions was confirmed.

One UAV left the airspace towards Belarus. 44 Russian UAVs were lost in terms of their location, with 1 enemy UAV remaining in Ukrainian airspace.

The air attack is being countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
