The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to defend positions in the Kurakhove direction in Donetsk region, but it is extremely difficult. The Russian army employs many mechanized assault groups there.

This was reported on the air of Apostrophe TV by Nazar Voytenkov, acting press officer of the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. In their area of responsibility, the Russians are advancing on the left and right flanks, and the defense has become more complicated compared to the summer.

"The defence is indeed very difficult because Russian troops use many mechanized assault groups that try to fortify themselves in forest strips, breaking through our defenses. They do not succeed, except in rare cases when they manage to enter some forest strip, but there they are destroyed by Ukrainian troops," the military said.

According to him, the Kurakhove direction is currently one of the most challenging on the front line. Russian invaders managed to occupy the village of Maksymilyanivka - in the area of this settlement, the 33rd Brigade provides fire support to neighboring units trying to hold back the enemy there.

Voytenkov also noted that Russian forces recently destroyed their own artillery group, and also reported that due to rains in the Donetsk region, the invaders are using armored vehicles.
