The situation in the Kurakhove direction remains difficult, with intense combat clashes — both mechanized and pedestrian.

Acting press officer of the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade Nazar Voitenkov reported on the state of this section of the front on the air of Espreso TV.

He noted that the enemy does not abandon its intentions to move forward.

"We are in a difficult defence and continue to repel their attacks using all available means. I am confident that the enemy has a plan to capture Kurakhove in the near future," said Voytenkov, adding that Ukrainian fighters stand in defence of the plans of the occupier and are doing everything possible to ensure the enemy does not achieve its goal.

The acting press officer of the 33rd SMB also emphasized that the enemy has enormous human resources, as well as a lot of equipment and ammunition. The enemy is trying to advance, using forest belts, plantations, and armored vehicles.

"We are using our Leopard tanks, which destroy enemy bunkers, fortified positions, or positions that the enemy managed to occupy. Artillery is also actively used, and the infantry is working to ensure that the occupiers do not realize any of their ambitious plans," emphasized Voytenkov.

In the city, according to him, despite mandatory evacuation, civilians remain. They are talked to and convinced of the need to save their lives. Voytenkov reported that there is practically no intact infrastructure in Kurakhove, with some buildings being repeatedly hit by enemy bombs. The Russians are destroying infrastructure, and there is no electricity, water, gas, or heating in the city.

"What will happen next is even hard to imagine, but we are doing everything possible to keep Kurakhove in the rear and prevent the enemy from advancing," Voytenkov stressed.

There are people, according to the acting press officer, who know places in the city where light appears at a certain time. They go there and then return to their homes. There is no heating, and people are boarding up windows with what they can find in the city.

"It is painful to watch this," noted Nazar Voytenkov.

The city authorities and police are urging people to evacuate to safer places, but, as Voytenkov says, among the locals, there are those who are just waiting for the Russians.
