The court chose a preventive measure for Member of Parliament Shevchenko in the form of detention

The court has decided on a preventive measure for MP Shevchenko, who is suspected of treason — detention until January 11.

This was reported by the media.

The day before, the State Bureau of Investigation announced that the acting member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Yevhen Shevchenko, was suspected of treason and detained. The spokesperson of the SBI stated that the prosecution would demand his detention.

Prior to this, Shevchenko wrote about the necessity of starting negotiations with Russia, stating that it is «time for President Zelenskyy to start a dialogue».
