Buntar-1 reconnaissance UAV is distinguished by stable communication and high-quality real-time video transmission without delays or freezes, claims the manufacturer.

The Ukrainian company Buntar Aerospace has created a reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with vertical take-off and landing, called Buntar-1, for the Ukrainian Defence Forces. It is currently being used in the Kharkiv direction.

The manufacturer revealed the features of this drone as part of the YouTube project by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Warchangers.

It is reported that Buntar-1 is intended for real-time reconnaissance, adjusting the fire of long-range artillery, searching for and detecting targets. Additionally, it can conduct broadcasts to help the commander understand what is happening in his area of responsibility.

The UAV is equipped with unique Buntar Copilot software, which automates the operator’s work and reduces device losses. The flight range of the device is approximately 50 km.

The idea for Buntar-1 stemmed from the combat experience of one of the Buntar Aerospace founders. He needed a reliable device that operates steadily under conditions of electronic warfare and that can be easily and quickly deployed.

The first test flights took place in August in the Kharkiv direction. Developers joined one of the aerial reconnaissance units and tested the UAV alongside the military.

"We were impressed by how effectively the device works, how stably it functions. The soldiers we collaborated with were very satisfied with the stable communication and the adequacy of real-time video transmission without delays or freezes," noted the manufacturer.

The report also mentions feedback from the commander of one of the aerial reconnaissance units operating in the Kharkiv region. According to him, 100 minutes of Buntar-1 flight proved to be much more effective than other reconnaissance drones that fly for about 3 hours.

According to the manufacturer, if the crew is experienced, they can master operating Buntar-1 in three days or less. Training pilots from scratch may take up to three weeks.

Currently, the team is working on the Buntar-3 platform, which will have significantly better flight characteristics. It is planned to increase the time in the air to 3 hours while maintaining the same stable communication.
