Syrskyi announced a new counteroffensive by the AFU

The Armed Forces of Ukraine intend not only to defend but also to launch counterattacks, announced Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi to military bloggers at a recent meeting.

This was reported by military correspondent Kyrylo Sazonov, who was present at the meeting.

"Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. The situation is difficult. But better than a week ago. Back then, it was indeed critical. Some units were retreating, leaving positions, and no one was there to cover them. A real crisis situation. Now the issue has been resolved: reserves have been deployed, and enemy plans disrupted. Oleksandr Syrskyi’s position is that we are obliged to stop the enemy. However, victory is impossible if the Armed Forces of Ukraine only act defensively. We need to seize the initiative and carry out counterattacks. This is what we are doing and will continue to do. Where and who - you will see," Sazonov writes.
